Jolene Galaviz
Jolene, a native Texan, knew from the young age of six that she wanted to be a nurse. Her journey began in 2006 when she graduated from South Plains College as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, starting her career as a medical-surgical nurse. After meeting her husband, she married and joined him on their first military move to Alaska, where she specialized in urgent care.
In 2012, Jolene completed her Associate’s Degree in Nursing at El Paso Community College and became a Registered Nurse. While stationed in El Paso, she worked primarily in the Intensive Care Unit and long-term care facilities. After several moves, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Jolene has lived in Oahu since 2021 and recently graduated from the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Texas Woman’s University, earning her MSN degree. As a military spouse of almost 20 years, she is grateful for the opportunity to live on the island due to her husband's career. Jolene has fallen in love with Oahu and its people, spending her free time with her daughter and son, watching her son play baseball, attending her daughter's hula performances, or enjoying the beach. She also loves long runs with her German Shepherd, Coco.
Jolene now practices as a primary care provider and is passionate about providing individualized care and teaching patients how to utilize their resources to improve their health.
